Chair
Sylvia Nixon
Sylvia is one of the founder members.
She was helping Melvyn at the Museum and they were talking together and decided to start up a Gilbert and Sullivan society in Mid Sussex and hence the society was born .
Secretary
Jane Leng
A relative newcomer and recent convert to Gilbert and Sullivan, Jane has been on the committee for the last four years and was recently elected as its secretary . Jane takes notes of meetings and completes relevant correspondence, supporting the smooth management of the society.
Treasurer
Laurence Leng
Laurence has been a fan of G&S since a school production of “Pirates”. He was an original founder member of the Society standing down a couple of years after its formation only to return again some four years later. Laurence took on the role of Treasurer in 2020.
Tech Lead
Richard Nixon
Richard is the designer for the society. Like Sylvia, he helped out at the museum and designed posters etc.
He was also a founder member of the Society and now designs all the artwork for all events and produces the Newsletter.
Membership Secretary
Pennie Ingram
There is something magical about singing and performing Gilbert and Sullivan, which Pennie has done from a young age. Now through the Society and their Facebook, she gets to spread the word for generations to come.
